ABOUT
Hi and thanks for passing by! I’m Daniel, a botanical tattoo artist in London. I have been painting and drawing all my life, this has always been my way of self expression, and relating to the world.
I specialise in freehand, large-scale botanical tattooing, working only with black ink. I like to work with a combination between bold lines and delicate details and further with powerful and fragile elements. I appreciate simple shapes and the use of negative space for balance and emphasis.
After many years of using a stencil I began to fall in love with freehand tattoos. This presented the idea to me that shapes and forms could appear on the body organically, instead of tracing them. This process allows me to create pieces that are tailored to each body shape, respecting and honouring their morphology and giving an organic look, making it a very liberating experience both personally and for my clients. I love working in a co-creation process adapting my designs to each person’s body, translating their ideas into one-of-a-kind tattoos.
I chose to work with botanical tattoos because it connects the human experience with the natural world. I have always been a plant lover. Growing up, my mom collected plants, and I've done the same since I first left home. They bring me a lot of peace and calmness. I trust their powerful silence, and love watching them grow. Years ago, after transitioning from a Fine Arts career and becoming a professional tattooer, I often wondered what to create on a daily basis. It took time to settle on what I would design for other people, and how that would impact both of our lives. I came to realise that plants followed me throughout my whole life. I already had an extended collection of botanical tattoos on my own body. Of the infinite options for tattoo subjects, I could truly and deeply relate to plants. At the end of the day, I will always be happy to decorate bodies with plants and flowers.
